John Brown - President

John Brown was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon. In 1996 at the age of 16 John signed up for the United States Marine Corps, leaving for boot camp after high school graduation at the age of 17. John served a little more than 4 years active duty with his entire enlistment overseas in Okinawa, Japan. John went to the School of Infantry after boot camp and upon completion was sent to Okinawa, Japan to 3rd Marine Division. Upon arriving in Okinawa John took the 3rd Recon Co indoctrination and passed. John became a reconnaissance marine and deployed twice with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit reaching the rank of corporal and the position of “assistant team leader”. John left active duty on September 9th 2001, returning back home to Oregon.

After a few months living back in Eugene, John moved to Portland, Oregon where he began school at Portland Community College and Portland State University. John studied political science and business, graduating with a bachelors degree in both studies. Soon after graduating from college John was hired back in Eugene with Forrest Technical Coatings as an international salesman. Having lived and traveled extensively throughout Asia and by speaking Spanish, John was given a sales position where he is now responsible for sales in South America, Mexico, and Asia.  John is happily married with 2 children, an 11yr old daughter and a 6yr old son. He has served as vice president and president on his children’s school PTO board, he volunteers coaching his kids sports, and is a member of The Eugene South Town Rotary group. John brings many unique skills to the Recon and Sniper Foundation and shares our collective motivation to serve those who have served us.
